I first travelled to Switzerland on my first ever trip in 2004 and though I returned briefly with my wife in 2016, my most recent trip was in 2022. It was the first time for me to travel in three years due to the covid pandemic and I arrived after attending the FLAIR conference in Aix-les-Bains nearby in France. I experienced much better weather than on previous trips, and, with the Swiss railcard – which offers discounts on otherwise very expensive cable cars, I was able to get much deeper into the mountains.
