I arrived in Kuala Lumpur on New Year’s Day 2009 and soon headed to the islands on the west coast of the peninsular – it was monsoon season on the east coast. I then visited the tea plantations in the Cameron Highlands and the world’s oldest rainforest at Taman Negara national park in central Pahang. As the Chinese new year approached I headed south to Melaka and then to Singapore.
