A flight from Singapore brought me to Macau and after a brief stay in Hong Kong I obtained my Chinese visa. I decided to travel in the south west of the country and explored the serene landscape around Guilin and Yangshuo before heading back to the mountains in the north west of Yunnan. I then flew south to the southern Dai region of Xishuangbanna in order to cross the Lao border and head back to Luang Namtha.
